SEOUL, Korea - Seoul Semiconductor (KOSDAQ: 046890), one of the eight largest LED manufacturers in the world, announced today that SureFire has selected Seoul Semiconductor's Z-Power LED P4 series to power its SureFire 2.5 W flashlights. SureFire is a California-based manufacturer of high-end illumination tools that are powerful, compact, rugged and reliable. Military, police and emergency personnel, and outdoors professionals rely on SureFire's flashlights to provide enough light when they need it.

SureFire 2.5 W is a compact, high-output lightweight tool designed for rugged conditions including camping and military use. Features include a precision reflector, momentary-on, constant-on, and a switch lockout to prevent accidental activation. SureFire began incorporating Seoul Semiconductor's LED technology into its SureFire 2.5 W this month.

"We are pleased to see that our technology has met the exacting standards demanded by SureFire," said Yang-hee Han, vice president and general managing director for sales and marketing, Seoul Semiconductor. "This is a testimonial that our technology is capable of passing even the world's highest performance measurements."

"We selected Seoul's Z-power LED P4 series because it offers one of the industry's highest-level of brightness and reliability, that also fits all lens designs," said Paul Kim, vice president of engineering at SureFire. "As such, it can be directly applied to all of our existing SureFire flashlights without the need to design and incorporate new lenses. Seoul's innovative technology will help us to continue to deliver superior technology that meets the needs of our customers."

Seoul Semiconductor's Z-power LED P4 series boasts the industry's highest brightness of 240 lumens at 1 Ampere. It also features the industry's highest luminous efficacy (100 lm/W @ 350 mA at the maximum) with only a single die, making it a brighter and more cost-effective light source when compared to conventional 70 lm/W fluorescent and 15 lm/W incandescent lighting options. In addition, Seoul Semiconductor also provides LEDs of various white colors segmented by color coordinate temperature 2,650 Kelvin to 10,000, which addresses the color deviation problem to render high uniformity of light.

"This relationship with SureFire reinforces our global position as a leading LED manufacturer," said Mr. Han. "Seoul Semiconductor's P4 series LEDs is rapidly replacing conventional lighting sources and opening the doors to a new era of energy efficient and environmental friendly lighting."
