Long-time Director of Product Development promoted to Vice President of Research and Product Development

TORRANCE, Ca. - With an eye toward future growth of the company, Pelican Products, a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced lighting systems and virtually indestructible cases for protecting valuable equipment has promoted Kevin Deighton to Vice President of Research and Product Development.
ďKevin Deighton has been a driving force in Pelicanís product development for many years,Ē said John Padian, Chief Operating Officer for Pelican Products. ďHis market expertise, leadership and passion for developing innovative designs are a key component of Pelicanís success.Ē
In his new position, Deighton will use his more than 15 years of engineering and technical expertise to lead the research and development of all new Pelican products from concept to manufacturing to market.
Before his promotion, Deighton served as Pelicanís Director of Product Development where he has managed and launched more than 60 of Pelicanís 107 products. Career highlights include leading the development of the Los Angeles Police Departmentís 7060 LED flashlight and the companyís transition from traditional incandescent lights toward tougher and more energy-efficient LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes).
Prior to joining Pelican, Deighton served as a Mechanical Engineer for Vickers Defense Systems, one of Englandís oldest and most venerable armament builders. While there he helped create designs for both the British and US military battle tanks and multiple rocket launchers. He also served as Engineering Manager for a real-estate lock box manufacturer, Multacc. Deighton holds a MBA from Cal State Long Beach and a degree in Technology and Management Science from the University of Bradford UK.
