New addition to the SureFire line identical to G3 Nitrolon® with LED instead of incandescent lamp
SureFire's G3 LED Flashlight
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Ca. - SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, has announced the latest addition to its product line—the G3™ LED. The new polymerbodied LED flashlight is identical to SureFire’s popular G3™ Nitrolon® with one significant difference: it features a long-running light emitting diode instead of a highoutput incandescent lamp. This digitally regulated, super-efficient LED generates 80 lumens of blinding light and continues producing useful light levels for 9.4 hours on a set of SureFire 123A lithium batteries. What’s more, it’s programmed to deliver 5.8 hours of tactical-level light (enough to temporarily overwhelm an aggressor’s night-adapted vision), making it a natural fit for law enforcement, military, and self-defense applications.

“The G3 LED was designed with police officers in mind,” said Aaron Zapata, SureFire’s product manager for the new flashlight. “Cops need both high output and long runtime in their line of work, and there isn’t always time to recharge a flashlight in the field. Plus, rechargeable flashlights start to lose power as soon as they’re removed from their chargers, so a handheld that produces tactical-level lighting for nearly six hours and runs on disposable batteries promises to be an incredibly useful tool in law enforcement.”
With a length of only 6.5 inches and a weight of 5.5 ounces, the G3 LED is an everydaycarry light that’s portable enough to actually carry every day. Its tough polymer body is non-conductive, corrosion proof, and features a molded-in grid pattern for a secure grip in wet conditions or while wearing gloves. O-ring seals keep out moisture, dust, and dirt, and because the G3 LED’s solid-state light emitting diode has no filament to burn out or break, it never needs to be replaced. An ergonomically designed holstering system that allows the G3 LED to be more quickly deployed with a handgun will be available in 2008. The new holster is customizable to accommodate user preferences, and it holds three spare batteries, equipping a freshly loaded G3 LED with enough battery power to run for over 18 hours in the field.
Like all SureFire illumination tools, the G3 LED is backed by SureFire’s No-Hassle Guaranty. It has an MSRP of $89 and is available for purchase from an authorized SureFire dealer or directly from SureFire by calling 800-828-8809 or visiting surefire.com.
