NEWARK, N.Y. - Ultralife (NASDAQ: ULBI) announced that at its Annual Meeting on June 5, 2008 shareholders overwhelmingly approved changing the company's name from Ultralife Batteries, Inc. to Ultralife Corporation. The change became effective on June 5, 2008. The company's stock symbol will remain ULBI.

The name change marks the evolution of Ultralife from a battery company to a diversified power and communications firm that encompasses standby & portable power solutions, communications & electronics systems, design & engineering services, and installation & maintenance.

"The name change reflects the fact that we are no longer just a battery company and allows us to place emphasis on the strengths of our brands, which are the engines driving our growth," said John D. Kavazanjian, Ultralife's president and chief executive officer. "We have moved well beyond our foundation of batteries and into new markets with both products and services.
