TRUMPF LASERCELL 1000
PLYMOUTH, Mi. - TRUMPF is introducing a new five-axis laser machine, the TLC 1000 Hybrid, for the North American job shop, prototyping, and fabricator markets. Five-axis lasers allow users the flexibility to completely fabricate a single piece on one machine with a high level of quality results, fast throughput, and better flexibility. Multi-axis laser systems also open up new production capabilities and the ability to do advanced design work in one step.
Open, Flexible Machine Design
The TLC 1000 Hybrid has a moving table in the X-axis and a cantilever Y-axis. The table can handle parts up to 500 kg. The machine's configuration offers cutting and welding capability for 3D, as well as 2D, parts and an optional rotary axis for tube cutting or welding of round parts. The full system has the following:
- 5-inch or 7.5-inch cutting head.
- A cantilever design, which allows open access to the work envelope. Three sides of the machine are clear from obstruction. This enables easier loading and unloading of parts.
- A work envelope of 118 inches in the X-axis, 65 inches in the Y-axis, and 30 inches the Z-axis. Actual axis travel is 118 inches in X- and 79 inches in the Y-direction.
- The B-axis is +/- 120 degrees and continuous rotation is possible on the C-axis. Continuous rotation of the C-axis allows parts to be programmed via an offline programming system and downloaded to the machine without having to touch up the programs on the machine to accommodate C-axis orientation. It also allows cutting from the bottom side of parts, which in many cases eliminates the need for relocating a part and means the part can be cut in one setup.
- Integrated crash protection on the B- and C-axes. A clutch on those axes prevents damage to the cutting optics and is easily reset to allow processing to continue.
- An optional rotary axis for processing tubes. The rotary axis can be mounted in either the horizontal or vertical position.
- The optional digital interface allows the end user to integrate third party equipment, such as clamps, sensors and rotary devices.
Higher Standard of Accuracy and Repeatability
The TLC 1000 Hybrid has extremely high axis accuracy and repeatability. The distance from head to the material is kept constant using the TRUMPF DIAS height regulation system. Axis accuracy is less than or equal to 0.1 mm with repeatability less than or equal to 0.03mm. These values are measured according to one of the highest standards for accuracy and repeatability: VDI/DGQ 3441 standards over 1000 mm.
The Y- and Z-axis of this machine are connected to an automated central lubrication system. The B- and C-axis do not require additional lubrication. These features greatly reduce maintenance needs and downtime, and enhance the lifespan of the machine.
Laser Welding Capability
The TLC 1000 Hybrid also has optional laser welding capability. The welding head and cutting head are easily interchangeable. The machine and weld heads have integrated shield gas supply.
TRUMPF is one of the world's largest producers of fabricating machinery and a world market leader in lasers used for industrial production technology. More information is available at: www.us.trumpf.com
