Night-Ops Releases Details of New Incandescent Lights

FlashlightNews.org - 01/02/2006

NORFOLK, Va. -- Night-Ops, the tactical flashlight division of BlackHawk Products Group, has released details regarding its soon to ship 'Falcata' line of incandescent tactical lights. The 'Falcata' will come in both 6V and 9V models, giving users a choice of brightness levels to match their individual needs.

Both lights employ a patented Xenon bulb system and are specifically designed to minimize shock from impacts, allowing for use as weapons-mounted illumination tools. The 1 inch (25.4 mm) diameter body enables the use of many mounting systems.

Constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum, the body and tailcap are coated in a Type III hard anodized matte black finish. Additionally, Night-Ops has included a specially designed, removable anti-roll and combat grip tailcap attachment and a removable pocket clip, enabling users to customize the light to their specific use.

The 'Falcata-9V' light puts out a manufacturer claimed 125 lumens for one hour on 3 CR123 batteries, while the 'Falcata-6V' generates a still impressive 95 lumens for one hour from two CR123 primaries. The light output passes through a UCL lens with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. Both lights may be activated in either a momentary or constant-on manner.

Both additions to the Night-Ops brand of lights are lightweight and ergonomically designed, with the 'Falcata-6V' weighing only 5.9 oz (170g) with batteries. Its more powerful sibling, the 'Falcata-9V', weighs in at only 7.4 oz (210g) with batteries.

Both lights will begin shipping in "Late Jan / Early February 2006" according to the manufacturer.
