Oasis Lead-Acid Battery

Oasis Lead-Acid Battery from Firefly Energy

PEORIA, Il. - Firefly Energy Inc. officially opens its new 40,000-square-foot world headquarters today. The new facility will be dedicated in a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new headquarters located at 6533 N. Galena Road in Peoria, Illinois.

"This new building is a further example of Firefly's continued progress in creating next generation energy storage technology for the United States," said Firefly CEO Ed Williams. "With the majority of advanced battery technology and manufacturing currently based in the Far East, we are convinced that next generation high performance batteries can be designed and produced here in the U. S."

Firefly is developing a portfolio of next-generation battery technologies. The first commercial products for trucking and military applications are targeted to ship early next year. In June, the company announced that it completed a $15 million Series C equity round of financing led by a strategic group of leading Clean-Tech investors. In addition, Firefly has continued to earn financial support from government agencies ranging from the federal to the local level.

"A key part of our success to-date comes from the strong support of leaders at the federal, state, county, and city levels," Williams said. "We're proud of this relationship, their support, and the resulting economic impact on the community." The new Firefly facility will house the company's nearly 50 employees, including those involved in administration, manufacturing, and research and development.

About Firefly Energy (www.FireFlyEnergy.com):

Firefly Energy Inc. ("Firefly") is a Peoria, Illinois-based battery technology company developing a portfolio of lead-acid battery technologies and products to enhance battery performance within major portions of the worldwide battery markets, now estimated at $30 billion in annual sales. The company's first applied technology is a microcell foam-based battery technology, which can deliver a unique combination of high performance, extremely low weight and low cost, all within a battery which unleashes the full power potential of lead acid chemistry while overcoming its historical performance drawbacks. Firefly's battery products and their patented microcell technology deliver to battery markets a level of performance achieved with advanced battery chemistries (Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium) but at one-fifth the cost. Microcell foam battery products can be manufactured as well as recycled within the existing lead acid battery industry's vast infrastructure. Firefly is backed by multi-billion dollar product companies such as Caterpillar (www.cat.com) NYSE: CAT), BAE Systems (www.baesystems.com) (London Stock Exchange over the counter symbol: BAESY), and Husqvarna (www.husqvarna.com Other OTC: HSQVY.PK).
