eLUX 36LED Module More Options for Easy Modification of Maglites

Circuit Specialists Inc., have announced the availability of their new 'eLUX' line of replacement LED modules for the ever-popular Maglite flashlight.

The company, which is based in Mesa, Arizona and boasts an impressive line of electronics supplies, is now offering a full line of 11 different LED-based light modules for the Maglite.

Companies Beat Mag to the Punch

Despite the dominance of Mag Instruments, Inc. in terms of overall market share, Mag has previously chosen not to introduce their own versions of LED-based lights, waiting until last month to announce that they would finally deliver LED products in the first quarter of 2006.

Whether a business or manufacturing decision, the delay by Mag has allowed other, smaller players to develop a new and profitable niche market providing easy LED upgrades for consumers massive collection of Maglites.

Companies like Nite-Ize, Diamond Mag, and LED-Replacement (just to name a few) have gotten their start by filling a consumer need that a much larger company had ignored.

Most buyers of these so-called 'drop-in' modules (so-called because they merely replace the stock bulb) purchase them as easy technological upgrades for their favorite mass-market flashlights.

Some customers will even buy Mag products and replacement modules at the same time, in order to take advantage of the proven Mag housing and modern lighting technology.

eLUX Modules Take the Idea to a New Level

With their eLUX products, Circuit Specialists have taken the concept of mag drop-in to an entirely new level.

From a '9 Jumbo LED' 3 Cell module for C/D Maglites which boasts an output of 360,000mcd and costs a mere $19.95, to an eye-blinding 'High Power LED' 2-6 Cell module that puts out a stated 350 lumens and costs $124.95, the entire group of 11 modules offers a multitude of illumination choices for demanding flashlight users.

All the eLUX modules are designed as easy replacements for the regular incandescent bulb in the Mag, requiring no more skill than unscrewing the head and bulb, and replacing the lens. All eLUX modules come with a hardened glass lens, resulting in a 9% increase in clarity over the stock, plastic lens.

Additionally, all of the eLUX products were designed and developed by the folks at Circuit Specialist, so the modules are built to last, making future replacement of your Maglite bulb a thing of the past.

Inexpensive LED drop-ins for Maglites

eLUX 9 Jumbo LED Module Both of the base models, the '9 Jumbo LED' for 3 C/D cells and the '9 Jumbo LED' for 4 C/D cells, are direct-drive LED devices featuring 4th generation 10mm LEDs with a 7-degree focus.

Both of the modules put out a stated 360,000 mcd of white light, with a maximum usable throw of about 75 feet (23 m).

The LEDs used in these modules are rated for 100,000 hours of service life so they should never need replacment, and like all LEDs, they are virtually shockproof.   Continued...
