Circuit Specialists Introduce eLUX® LED Replacements

FlashlightNews.org - 01/09/2006

5 Brighter, Programmable Modules

eLUX 18LED Module One step up from the economical and cost-efficient '9 Jumbo LED' modules are the '18 LED' 2-6 C/D cell modules. These modules come in five varieties; UV/Red, UV/White, White/Amber, White/Blue, and White/Green.

All of the drop-ins at this level include programmable, solid-state electronics utilizing the company's "microprocessor power pulse regulation" which, according to the company, "squeezes an additional 140% of power before discarding batteries significantly extending flashlight runtimes."

A 1 hour low battery LED indicator also comes with these drop-ins, making battery changes a less frequent and more predictable process.

These eLUX bulb replacements utilize exclusive DPLM (Digital Programmable Light Modulation) technology. And, according to Circuit Specialists General Manager John R. Ruff, "They are the first and only LED conversion to offer full programmability, true regulated hue/brightness, near 90% energy efficiency and 3-in-1 color bulbs."

All five of the '18 LED' modules are priced at an affordable $39.95, and are just as easy to install as the '9 Jumbo LED' models. Changing from one color to another on with these modules is as easy as pressing the button on the flashlight, giving flashlight users illumination flexibility that has been missing in previous drop-in products.

More Flexibility with 36 LEDs

eLUX 36LED Module The next level of drop-ins in the eLUX line is the '36 LED' module for 2-6 Cell C/D Mags. Offered in an innovative 'Blue/White/Red' color combination, which is priced at $59.95.

This replacement offers numerous light combinations including:

  • Mode 1: Full bright white
  • Mode 2: 50% bright white
  • Mode 3: Full bright red
  • Mode 4: 50% bright red
  • Mode 5: Dazzle (red-white-blue)
  • Mode 6: Strobe (red-white)
  • Mode 7: Strobe (red-blue)

The '36 LED' unit utilizes the same patent-pending technology as the '18 LED' line, and also has the 1 hour low battery LED indicator. Like it's siblings, all color changes are controlled by the stock Maglite switch, helping to keep operation of the light simple and intuitive.

Maximum Brightness and Sophistication

eLUX High Power LED Module

The final (and brightest) level of LED drop-ins in the eLUX line are the 'High Power LED' 2-6 Cell for C/D Maglites. As you may already have guessed, these modules incorporate all the electronic sophistication of the '18 LED' and '36 LED' versions, and include the low battery warning feature. But by using High Brightness LEDs, these modules become monster-lights capable of generating up to 350 lumens.

The three models of the 'High Power LED' line offer either a 'White/White', a White/Red' or a 'White/UV' combination . All three combo lights feature a machined billet aluminum lens/heatsink and two-mode operation. The 'White/White' model switches between 100% and 50% output levels, while the 'White/UV' model allows for 100% brightness White or 100% UV light. The 'White/Red' module also switches from 100% white to 100% red output at the press of a button.

The 'High Power LED' products are priced at $124.95 each, and are recommended for use with rechargeable NiMH batteries for improved brightness and runtime.
