MUNCHEN, Germany - Have you ever tried to work a torch without batteries? It doesn't work! It does now! The new DOT-it Solar makes it possible. The newcomer in the popular OSRAM DOT-it product range has an environmentally-friendly solar cell to take the sun out of the sky for you, whether you're on a roof terrace or in the depths of the jungle.

In order to get the three LEDs in this environmentally-friendly all-rounder to shine for up to four and a half hours, all you need is indirect sunlight - which makes it the perfect companion for people who enjoy fresh air, camping and walking. Simply fit DOT-it Solar to the back of your rucksack using the handy snap hook during the day, charge it up with sunlight and relax with a good book and pleasant LED lighting in your tent in the evening.

Thanks to its robust rubber casing, the DOT-it Solar is also resistant to cool, damp conditions.The all-rounder copes with lively moments when cooling off in a mountain stream or a sudden downpour and never leaves anyone out in the rain. The DOT-it Solar has a practical eyelet, a suction head and a snap hook, practical options which mean it can be fitted almost anywhere.

The DOT-it Solar comes in yellow, orange, black and green and will be available to all fans of walking, camping and outdoor action from June 2009 from DIY stores, large retail outlets and electrical specialists.
