VARTA Back Up Charger

ELLWANGEN, Germany - You can soon find yourself inadvertently "incommunicado" when the battery in your mobile phone quietly expires in the taxi on your way from the airport to a business appointment, for example. The new Back Up Charger from VARTA is a mobile source of energy that you can always rely on. It features a USB Out port and six charging adapters for the most common types of mobile phone (including a new EU standard Micro USB connector). Just connect the mobile phone and it will receive fresh power from two charged type AA batteries straight away. The charger itself can be recharged by means of a laptop connected via the USB input. In addition to keeping mobile phones running, the new charger can also be used to "power up" other mobile devices, such as MP3 players. The new Back Up Charger, including two Ready2Use AA batteries, will be available from May at a price of € 15.99.

The new Traveller from VARTA is extremely compact, making it highly practical for frequent travellers. As a special highlight, the connector on the rear can be folded away, enabling the charger to be stowed safely and conveniently away in a suitcase or an item of hand luggage. And it has no problems coping with voltages from 100 to 240 V, either. With this compact and functional travelling companion, devices such as digicams or mini-speakers will stay the course, even if you're travelling to the other end of the world. The new Traveller will be available from May at a price of € 14.99. The package includes two Ready2Use AA or AAA batteries.

The two new additions to the charger range demonstrate once again VARTA's focus on customers' needs. As the industry's innovation driver, the company pursues the ongoing development of new products which are designed to support a mobile lifestyle and thus appeal to a dynamic category of buyers. "Our market analyses show that mobility has changed substantially in recent years. Against this background, it is only natural for us to introduce products which are in keeping with consumer behaviour and offer modern utility value," notes Peter Werner, Senior Marketing Director Batteries and International Key Account Coordinator at Varta.

The upshot of this approach is a range of chargers offering numerous practical functions and covering diverse applications at highly competitive prices. In this way, VARTA continually creates new buying incentives for customers while providing retailers with substantial added value through high sales figures.
