Fraen Optical Solutions for CE (EU) and IESNA Street Lights

GUANGZHOU, China and READING, Ma. - Philips Lumileds and Fraen Corporation's Optical Manufacturing Group (Fraen OMG) today announced a new optical solution for LUXEON Rebel LEDs that enables street light designers to meet IESNA Type II and Type III radiation patterns with a single lens set. Because a single lens set can be used for either radiation pattern, street light manufacturers can simplify development and manufacturing of new roadway lighting solutions.

"Total cost of ownership and payback periods are key metrics for anyone installing street lights," said Rick Hamburger, Strategic Marketing Manager. "Every step that reduces costs shortens the payback period and frees funding for investment in additional projects for local communities."

"Fraen's close work with Philips Lumileds is allowing us to create lenses that contribute to meeting local specifications and contribute to overall efficiencies and cost reductions," said David Cohen, Business Unit Manager at Fraen OMG. "Our latest lens being introduced this week at the Guangzhou Lighting Fair in China enables accelerated time to market, improved ROI and superior field performance for elements such as glare and light pollution."

Fraen OMG's streetlight optical solutions can be seen this week at their booth #29 in hall 6.1 at the Guangzhou Lighting Fair. For more information, contact Fraen OMG by email, or Future Lighting Solutions,
