EAGLEVILLE, Pa. - Streamlight®, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance lighting equipment for professionals, announced today it has received the Underwriters Laboratories Inc.’s highest designation, Division 1, for its 3C ProPolymer® Luxeon® and 4AA ProPolymer® Luxeon® flashlights.
“Firefighters and industrial technicians depend on their flashlights, especially when working under trying and frequently hazardous conditions,” said Streamlight President Brad Penney. “Receiving the most stringent safety rating for our 3C and 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon LED flashlights underscores our commitment to provide the highest quality products for these men and women who routinely operate under severe circumstances.”
Penney said, “With the long life, brightness and reliability of a 1-watt Super High Flux Luxeon LED combined with a virtually indestructible body, both the 3C and 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon lights are essential tools for firefighters and industrial professionals.”
The 3C and 4AA Luxeon Division 1 ProPolymer® lights have been approved by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. for meeting the highest standard for safety with Division 1 designation, which covers their use in areas where flammable gases or liquids or ignitable fibers or flyings may be present under normal operating conditions.
Both the 3C and 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon contain a 1-watt Super High Flux Luxeon LED, offering the long life and reliability of an LED with the brightness and range of a conventional bulb - up to seven times brighter than a standard high-intensity LED. With a lifetime of 10,000 hours, the LED never needs replacing, is virtually unbreakable and produces long-range brilliance with a smooth, uniform pattern.
The 3C ProPolymer Luxeon offers a continuous run time of 4 hours at full intensity, up to 15 hours at 50% output intensity, and up to 24 hours at 25% output intensity. It uses three "C" size alkaline batteries and weighs 14.6 ounces with batteries. The 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon weighs 7.6 ounces with batteries and features a continuous run time of 4 hours at full intensity, with additional hours of declining useable output. It uses four "AA" size alkaline batteries.
Both lights are designed for safety, reliability and high performance in extreme environments. Each model features a body constructed of a polymer engineering resin that is shock and heat resistant, non-conductive, corrosion proof and "O" ring sealed for water resistance. The lens in each light is unbreakable polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant coating, and the lens cover is made from the same impact-resistant polymer as the body.
Both lights have a push button tail-cap switch for easy, one-handed operation, and are ergonomically optimized for maximum handling comfort.
The 3C ProPolymer Luxeon retails for $69.95 and the 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon retails for $59.95. The lights are available in high visibility yellow or black. Both lights also meet applicable European Community Directives.
