4AA HELMET LIGHTING KIT
EAGLEVILLE, Pa. - Streamlight®, Inc., a leading flashlight manufacturer for fire and rescue uses, announced today it has introduced the 4AA Helmet Kit, featuring the 4AA Propolymer® Luxeon® flashlight and a clamp and strap for mounting the light to any helmet style. The kit also includes a supply of batteries and a convenient wrist lanyard.
The universal lighting kit is designed to offer a comfortable, secure and cost-effective way for firefighters to attach the 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon light to both traditional and modern style firefighter helmets, according to Streamlight President Brad Penney.
“Firefighters appreciate the long life, brightness and reliability that the Super High Flux Luxeon LED brings to this durable, yet lightweight light,” said Penney. “Now they can quickly convert this popular lighting tool to hands-free operation, by using either the included stainless steel clamp or rubber helmet strap to attach it to their helmet.”
Both the helmet clamp and strap can be attached to the brim of any style firefighting helmet, and can be adjusted for maximum comfort. The components of the clamp are made of stainless steel to provide both corrosion and impact resistance.
The 4AA Propolymer Luxeon, which weighs only 7.52 ounces with batteries, contains one (1 Watt) Super High Flux Luxeon LED, offering long range brilliance and a smooth, uniform pattern. The Luxeon LED is up to seven times brighter than a standard-high intensity LED, is virtually unbreakable and, with a 100,000-hour lifetime, never needs replacing. The light features a continuous run time of 4 hours at full intensity, with 2 additional hours of declining useable output. It uses four “AA” size alkaline batteries.
Featuring a body constructed of a polymer engineering resin that is virtually indestructible, shock resistant and non-conductive, the 4AA ProPolymer Luxeon has a rubber boot tailcap switch for one-handed operation. The light is “O” ring sealed for water resistance, and the body is ergonomically optimized for maximum handling comfort. The lens is made of unbreakable polycarbonate with a scratch-resistant coating, and the lens cover is also made from the same impact resistant polymer as the body. The flashlight meets applicable European Community Directives.
The 4AA Helmet Kit, which also includes 4 “AA” alkaline batteries and an adjustable wrist lanyard, retails for $67.95.
