BORDENTOWN, N.J. - In an effort to encourage urbanites to make the most of their surrounding great outdoors, Princeton Tec, in partnership with Backpacker Magazine, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and Victorinox Swiss Army are bringing the ultimate in extreme outdoor adventure to the Big Apple with Adventures NYC®. Taking place on August 29th in Central Park, this FREE day-long festival will showcase the best of what the backcountry has to offer, as well as our New Home For Headlamps Trade-In Program.

"The atmosphere at Adventures NYC is filled with outdoor enthusiasts sharing their passion and reveling in the day," says Justin Kline, Princeton Tec's bike/outdoor division manager. "This is also a perfect event to host our headlamp trade-in program which is a great way to put a new headlamp on your head while donating to an important cause."

It's simple to get a new headlamp in your hands and on your head for your next expedition. Swing by our booth, hang-out and see what's new, grab some necessary swag and donate your old, outdated, got-lots-of-miles-on-it headlamp to the program and receive a new Fuel headlamp for just $15. We will refurbish the headlamps we receive and donate them to a national outdoor or international medical program in need of lights. All headlamps are accepted - the more the merrier.

The free, open-to-the-public event will take place on Saturday, August 29th from noon to 4 p.m. transforming Central Park into an outdoor playground offering urban dwellers the opportunity to experience an action-packed day of interactive events, games, shows, and outdoor gear showcases. Activities will take place at the Bandshell (mid-park between 66th and 72nd streets) and will include rock-climbing, kayaking, trampoline stunt shows, live music, back-country cooking seminars, and more.

The event is a great way to spend a Saturday in the sunshine, help others in need and grab a new headlamp. See you there.
