LOUDON, N.H., - Millions of race fans, who geared up in anticipation for the high octane thrill of the SYLVANIA 300 today at the New Hampshire International Speedway (NHIS), were definitely not disappointed when driver Kevin Harvick, who counts SYLVANIA as one of his sponsors, cruised down Victory Lane in the #29 car after Sunday's race. The SYLVANIA 300 is the first of the final ten races in the "Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup."

"What a great day we had at the SYLVANIA 300 today. The weather was perfect and Kevin's win made it the most exciting race yet since we began our title sponsorship in 2002," Francis Santiago, SYLVANIA executive vice president and general manager of the company's Precision, Materials & Components (PM&C) division, and the SYLVANIA 300 Grand Marshal, said. "The fans here at NHIS are very loyal to their drivers, and that kind of support and dedication is important to us for the SYLVANIA brand as well. We are proud to celebrate this historic race with the millions of NASCAR fans worldwide this year, and for another six years."

In July, Charlie Jerabek, president and CEO of OSRAM SYLVANIA, and Bob Bahre, chairman of NHIS, announced that OSRAM SYLVANIA will continue as the title sponsor of the SYLVANIA 300 through 2012.

It was a busy weekend for the North American lighting leader. Friday morning, NASCAR fans revved up for the SYLVANIA 300 with the lively banter of on-air radio personality Imus, which was broadcast from SYLVANIA's hospitality tent. The show aired nationally on Infinity Broadcasting and local station 93.3 WNHI, and was also simulcast on MSNBC.

"Imus, a long-time NASCAR fan, was the perfect choice for us to kick off the SYLVANIA 300. We were thrilled that he chose to air his program trackside for the second year in a row. He was a big hit with our audience, and I'm sure with all the racing fans out there that tuned into his show," Jon DiGesu, OSRAM SYLVANIA director of brand strategy, said.

SYLVANIA also introduced, during the SYLVANIA 300 race weekend, a new line of powerful lanterns and flashlights, ideal for camping, late night walks, boating, cycling, or for use as safety and emergency lights. Many of the products benefit from state-of-the-art light emitting diode (LED) technology, which SYLVANIA has pioneered in recent years.

In addition, the company debuted a commemorative edition of its fastest growing product, the DOT--it(TM) portable light, which was specially designed for the SYLVANIA 300 to look like a stock car tire. The SYLVANIA DOT--it has won rave reviews for its ease of use, long life and versatility since being introduced in the fall of 2005.

On Saturday evening, the special edition DOT--it lights were given to each person walking in the NASCAR Foundation's Track Walk at the New Hampshire International Speedway, which benefited the Victory Junction Gang Camp and the Kenny Irwin Jr. Foundation. Fans, NASCAR president Mike Helton, Richard Petty, members of the Irwin family and other NASCAR celebrities took part in the charity walk.

The fourth annual SYLVANIA race weekend included the New Hampshire 100, 125, and 200, and culminated today with the SYLVANIA 300 at 1:30 p.m.

The September race at NHIS has historically been one of the highest rated televised NASCAR events and routinely draws crowds of well over 100,000 to NHIS, the only super speedway in the six-state New England region and the largest sporting facility in the region. The "Magic Mile" currently hosts both of New England's largest sporting events, the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races in July and September.
