MILPITAS, Ca. -- Samsung SDI Tuesday said that it had invented a methyl alcohol-operated fuel cell which has double the lifetime of current batteries used in cell phones and other digital gadgets. Samsung plans to mass-produce the new battery from late 2007 or from early 2008 though it is not yet decided whether it will outsource the manufacturing or not.

SOUTH KOREA -- Components maker KDT Corp. recently announced that it has developed a photo luminescent film that converts blue LED light into white light. KDT claims that the product is the world's first blue LED product that produces white light.
