Lighted Sundome Tent

WICHITA, Ks. - Coleman has introduced the industry's first hinged door, lighted tents as part of its powerful 19-model catalog lineup for 2007, adding to the level of convenience and amenities families can enjoy while camping. Seven new models make their debut, including two with the new patent-pending hinged door and innovative lighting system features. Additionally, two of the new tents come with the lighting system, and another comes with the hinged door. One existing tent - the American Heritage™ Coleman® tent - has been updated to include the hinged door.

The 17x9 Screened Weathermaster® Elite tent includes Coleman's new, state-of-the-art tent lighting system, which also is patent pending, and its unique hinged door technology. The hinged door includes a rigid pole frame support structure that is easy to install and take down. It allows the door to be swung open and closed. An overlapping door flap helps prevent insect entrance when the door is closed and held in place with hook-and-loop fasteners. It also can be zipped tightly closed.

The integrated lighting system, which provides a bright, useful light and not just ambience illumination, is powered by an eight D-cell battery pack. A replaceable 15-watt spiral fluorescent tube produces enough light to read by at night. It can be turned on and off with a push-button remote control from up to 50 feet away, or by using the backlit switches located at the light fixture and the battery pack. Two settings provide brightness options, with more than 16 hours of run time on the low setting and 12 to 14 hours of run time on high.

The Screened Weathermaster Elite tent features sleeping quarters with a strong, steel-pole cabin frame plus a large screened room with more than six feet of headroom throughout. The open Cool-Air™ port allows increased ventilation via bottom-to-top airflow. The tent also has a weatherproof electrical port, two privacy windows with extra ceiling mesh for maximum airflow and multiple gear pockets for storing gear. It also includes Coleman's exclusive six-feature WeatherTec™ system, with its: "Keeps You Dry...Guaranteed™" promise.

The new Coleman Screened Weathermaster Elite tent will be available at retail in the spring of 2007 and carry a suggested retail price of $199.99.

16x7 Montana Big Sky Elite Tent

Also featuring both the hinged door and lighting system innovations, the Montana Big Sky™ Elite tent is a modified dome design with 16-by-7-foot floor size and 75-inch center ceiling height. Its spacious accommodations provide an alternative to dome tents for a family and their gear.

The spiral fluorescent light bulb is removable for storage, as is the battery pack. All wiring is integrated into the seams to provide a clean, hidden design.

Available in spring 2007, this tent has a suggested retail price of $159.99.

Two Other Models Get Lighting Systems for '07

Joining Coleman's line of domes next season is a 12-by-10 Lighted Sundome® tent, which will include the new lighting system introduced to the Elite tents. It becomes the sixth dome tent in the Sundome line, which ranges from 7-by-5 to 12-by-10 models. Suggested retail price for the big, lighted dome is $119.99.

Also new next spring will be the 17-by-14-foot Lighted Rock Springs™ tent, a modified three-room dome with screened porch. Although a large tent, it is designed with continuous pole sleeves and Coleman's exclusive pin-and-ring design and InstaClip™ system for uncomplicated and easy setup. Suggested retail price is $179.99.
