3AA HAZ-LO™ and Division 1 Survivor® LED Join Other Lights for Industrial Professionals
Streamlight's Survivor LED
EAGLEVILLE, Pa. - Streamlight® Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance lighting equipment for professionals, introduced two flashlights which have received the Underwriters Laboratories Inc.'s highest safety designation — the new 3AA HAZ-LO™ Headlamp and a Division 1 version of its Survivor LED® flashlight.
The new lights are the latest additions to the company's growing line of flashlights designed for use under consistently dangerous conditions that many industrial professionals face. The line also includes the 3C LED Division 1 ProPolymer® and the 4AA LED Division 1 ProPolymer® flashlights.
All four lights have been approved by Underwriters Laboratories for meeting the hazardous location standard for safety with Division 1 designation, which covers their use in areas where flammable gases or liquids may be present under normal operating conditions.
"Industrial technicians depend on their flashlights, especially when working under trying and frequently hazardous conditions," said Streamlight Chief Operating Officer Ray Sharrah. "Because flashlights can act as a source of ignition in the presence of fire or ignitable gases or liquids, it is important to select lights that carry the proper approval ratings for use in such conditions. Receiving the most stringent safety rating for these four lights underscores our commitment to provide the highest quality products for professionals who routinely operate under severe circumstances, such as darkened conditions where there are potential explosive substance hazards, or the risk of electrical or chemical fires."
The 3AA HAZ-LO contains a 1 Watt Super High Flux LED, offering the long life and reliability of an LED with the brightness and range of a conventional bulb — up to seven times brighter than a standard high-intensity LED. The hands-free headlight features an impact and weather resistant resin casing, unbreakable polycarbonate lens, a push button on/off switch and a rubber dome actuator that offers easy operation when wearing heavy gloves. Service technicians and others operating in confined, dark spaces will find the 3AA HAZ-LO indispensable for its reliability, long run-time and durability, in addition to its safety features.
The Survivor LED Division 1 light further enhances a light that is a firefighter favorite because of its toughness, compact size and reliability. Its Division 1 rating gives industrial technicians the added assurance that the light can be safely used even when there is a high potential for fire or explosive substance hazards. Available in both alkaline and rechargeable models, the light's state-of-the-art 3 watt LED never needs to be replaced, making spare bulbs a thing of the past. The light features an ultra-bright white beam with a 500-foot range, while also optimizing peripheral lighting, making it the ideal light for a wide range of applications, such as troubleshooting equipment malfunctions in dark areas or conducting inspections under dark, hazardous conditions.
Both the 3C and 4AA LED Division 1 ProPolymer lights contain a 1-watt Super High Flux LED. With a lifetime of 10,000 hours, the LED never needs replacing, is virtually unbreakable and produces long-range brilliance with a smooth, uniform pattern. Both lights are designed for safety, reliability and high performance in extreme environments such as a chemical manufacturing plant or oil refinery. Each model features a body constructed of a polymer engineering resin that is shock and heat resistant, non-conductive, corrosion proof and "O" ring sealed for water resistance.
The 3AA HAZ-LO retails for $64.99 and the suggested retail price of the Survivor LED Division 1 is $192.95. The 3C ProPolymer LED and 4AA ProPolymer LED retail for $69.95 and $59.95, respectively. All lights also meet applicable European Community Directives.
