FOUNTAIN VALEY, Ca. - On November 14th, 2006, at National Geographic in Washington, D.C., SureFire's multi-output, multi-spectrum Kroma won the 'Best of Adventure' gear award at the Adventurer of the Year/Best of Adventure award ceremony. Best of Adventure gear winners are selected by National Geographic editors, and awards are bestowed upon products that demonstrate innovation, utility/functionality, value, and design. Products are nominated by an advisory board consisting of 45 retailers nationwide, and the winning products will be featured in the December 2006/January 2007 issue of National Geographic Adventurer.

“We’re really excited to be presented with this award,” said Derek McDonald, vice president of marketing for SureFire. “It demonstrates that the technology that went into the Kroma is something that’s been lacking in flashlights until now. Technology that’s not only extremely cool, but necessary.”

SureFire’s electronically regulated Kroma, introduced in 2006, is SureFire’s most technologically advanced handheld flashlight for consumers. It features a microprocessor that allows a user to switch between a 50-lumen primary white LED and red and blue secondary LEDs with a twist of its no-look selector ring. It also features two output levels for each LED color, controlled by the light’s magnetically controlled selector ring and the two-stage pushbutton on its patented lockout tailcap. All in a weatherproof, pocket-sized, hard-anodized aluminum body under six inches long and weighing less than five ounces, fully loaded with batteries.
