Flashlight manufacturer to expand into the promotional products market

COLUMBUS, Oh. - Dorcy International Inc. has announced the launch of Dorcy Special Markets, a division of Dorcy International created to market the company’s retail lighting products to the promotional products industry.
“Effective January 1, 2007, I am pleased to announce we will be launching Dorcy SMD, a new and innovative division of our company, developed exclusively to market the same Dorcy brand lighting products sold at retail to promotional products distributors,” said Tom Beckett, Dorcy International’s president and CEO.
Heading up Dorcy's new division will be industry veteran Tom Oddo, MAS. Before joining Dorcy SMD, Oddo served as president of Corvest’s lighting products company, Adva-Lite. Prior to Adva-Lite, he served as national sales and marketing manager for BIC Graphic USA. “Dorcy SMD will bring a new dimension in product technology to our industry,” Oddo said “As a division of Dorcy International, we have access to extensive worldwide manufacturing and sourcing capabilities to bring distributors and their customers innovative lighting products.”
The 2007 Dorcy Promotional Products Catalog will initially feature the nine top selling categories of lighting products, including pocket lights, key lights, flashlights, specialty lights, high-performance lights, laser pointers, spotlights, area lights and rechargeable lights. Effective November 22, distributors can log on to www.DorcySMD.com to set up their account and pre-order catalogs.
