SAN DIEGO, Ca. - NiteRider Technical Lighting Systems has made a push as the industry’s leader in lighting technology with the introduction of seven new rechargeable lighting systems for the 2008 model-year, which started July 1st. This is the largest product launch from NiteRider in the 17 year history of the company and includes six new “high-powered” LED lights.

Company President, Jack Gresmer, stated “We are seeing performance advancements in high-powered LED’s that parallel those of the computer chip industry in years past. In the last 12 months lumen or light output has more than doubled while power consumption has decreased – yielding longer burn times – while prices have gone up only marginally. We’re on board with LED.“

NiteRider has been working with LED technology for years in its successful Commuter Series of safety and to-be-seen lights and has now taken the role as the industry’s leader in “high-powered” LED lighting technology. All the new LED lighting systems utilize proprietary, high quality reflectors and optical-grade borofloat glass lenses to minimize light distortion and loss.

The brand new TriNewt model is the brightest lighting system NiteRider has ever released with an output of nearly 500 lumens, even brighter than an HID light. The TriNewt incorporates a cluster of three high-powered LED’s and the optical design of the custom reflector has been computer optimized to generate a beam pattern most ideal for night riding. A wireless remote version is available, allowing light control without the rider’s hands ever having to leave the handlebars, regardless of where the light is mounted.

Besides two models of TriNewt, rounding out the new offerings, are the entry level Sol™ and SolMate™ Systems, each with 115 lumens of light output and finally the upgraded MiNewt.X2 and MiNewt.X2 Dual Systems.
